Product overview

Embarkz started out as blog to help and align people with holistic wellness. The mobile app caters to extending the same concept further. The app’s primary focus in the MVP was to provide the user with a habit builder and then translating it to the bigger picture of holistic wellness. The main goal was to make the user self-discover the way to balance many aspects of wellness.

My contributions

I was glad to be a part of the core team and built up the concept along with the Founder. I was responsible for planning the MVP,  information architecture,  creating a concept with the habit builder, making provisions for upcoming features, keeping in touch with development team to ensure perfect delivery.

Goals

What brings holistic wellness? A gradual change in a persons lifestyle! And to bring that change, it needs to be self motivated. But as we all know, self motivation is only short lived, and most of the times, one doesn’t know where to start and what to follow. Let’s check out the major goals we hoped to achieve using this application.

User can add new goal by selecting a prelisted goal or creating a custom one. Each goal frequency can be defined. The default landing page is “Today”.

Gratitude note

Add a gratiitude note by simply clicking a pre-defined value. User can also add a description to it. Feelings can be logged which relate to the note.

Quicker 2 minute reads in form of cards. Easily keep on flipping to know something interesting every time you have a few spare minutes.

Measuring goals

The user can check his/her performance over a longer period of time like a month or year. Concepts like longest streak and avg. completion rate give a quick overview. 

Balanced wellness

Each activity belongs to a category. Each category has a base color which transcends down to one of the 6 dimensions of health. Every activity log accounts for a dimension which all together depicts a balanced wellness. Hence the user can consciously strive to achieve a balance across all dimensions.

Clean, light, delightful!

The app UI, was based on white everywhere with joyful splashes of colours as accents. All icons and imagery are custom, interactions were carefully designed with the user's motivation in mind.

Result

The app is in it's beta test mode. We are awaiting eagerly to see how it fares. Wish us luck!
